As many posts here advocate the Autron AusCruise range of cruise controls, I went through the research and found MotorOne Group in Osb Park (WA) does the AusCruise range.
They suggested for my 2004 manual D Navara a drive-by wire (what ever that means) for $660 done and dusted!
This story gets longer - drop the truck off at 9.00 for 2 hours! Blah Blah - some 7 hours later, I retreived the Navara. Long and short of it all is that they damaged the steering wheel and was I "upset"? (a tear in the 10 o'colck posn facing the driver)
I rang them within 5 minutes of picking up the Navara to let them know that they had damaged the steering wheel.
(Phone calls, emails and calls to insurers ensued)
MotorOne have come good and have replaced the steering wheel with a new genuine Nissan steering wheel.
My point is:
1. Stick to your guns
2. Get the product you want; and
3. If you want a really good Cruise Control, go the AusCruise and you can rely on MotorOne in WA to go the full mile!
Thanks to Dave from MotorOne getting it right for the customer!
Some people say "the customer is always right". I say "it doesn't matter - they are still the customer".
Well done MotorOne!

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the story, as it is always good to get both positive and negative
feedback to help inform others.
I had a cruise control fitted to my 3.0TD manual Patrol by the company on the link below.
CCS Technology
I had a little problem with the unit after being fitted (fuse went 2-3 days after installation), and they took the vehicle back and repaired without hassle.
The cruise control works great, and I would recommend to anyone.
I would also recommend this company to anyone who lives in
sydney

While I gree the product is good, the Autron fitters are somewhat towards the middle to bottom end of the scale!
Based on experience and some confirmation with Autron;
1. only 'qualified' fitters can install the unit (usually their fitters)
2. few workshops are 'qualified' (so 1 above applies)
3. assoc diploma in electroncs (or better) does 'qualify' you
4. you get the run around when asked for the installation instructions or otehr tech info
5. VERY untidy installation (dangled down onto brake/clutch area - dangerous)
6. expect the run around getting that fixed too!
The upside, the reseller (full workshop & electrical capabilities) was helpful, but hindered by the manufacturer.
There you have it. Seems the reseller values their customer more than the 'qualified' installation people & Autron!
