birdsville & food

iam heading to the birdsville races in a few weeks and was not sure if i could take fruit & veges from sydney or is there a bin near the border that you have to place all of your fruit & veg thanks for any replies

I assume from Sydney you're talking about going from Bourke up to Cunnamulla!

At the border they have stock inspections so don't bring your horse but just drive straight through with your fruit and vegies.

Border crossings further west just have a gate to be opened and shut.

thanks everyone for the replies, iam going thru cunnamulla so thanks for the info i didnt want to throw out all my food & have to re buy over the border. regards sshep

Hi, if you go through Broken Hill you will have to dispose of your fruit as it is in the fruit fly exclusion zone, enjoy the trip.
