Hello everyone. My wife has just gone into labour we think. You know, the contractions that are getting progressively tighter and sorer and the associated excitement that goes with it. Our 2nd girl, the first one being only 13 months old.
Well it got me thinking, being a 4wdie
forum and all, do you think that a bit of rough stuff in the 4by will help fast forward things a bit? I can't get to the Flinders or Cape
Yorke because of limited time, but just thinking maybe up and down the gutter, maybe find a bit of dirt verge that has a few holes etc. I really don't want it to drag on too long, been working early day shifts and getting up at 5.15 a.m., bit tired and birth by midnight would be grand.
Any thoughts from those that have tried these kind of things before, or even the usual funny comments from blokes with no idea all appreciated. If I don't get to reply for a while its because I'm having my hand squeezed so tight that it brings tears to my eyes, being blamed and sworn at by a woman that never swears, and maybe even waking up on the floor with my legs raised with nurses fanning me and asking me if I'm alright (I survived the fist one though but that was from the head end!). I'm sure you'll all understand.
Regards
D-Jack

Just got back from that trip myself. Still trippin' actually but the package arrived safely some 2 weeks ago.
Good luck with it all and be sure to let us know what the outcome was - sorry I just re-read that it was to be your second girl so you're ahead of me there.
Best wishes

Mate
Take it from me ... be bloody careful with the old ... "pant .. don't push" routine. From my recollection it won't take too long for the poor wee lassie to tell you exactly what to do with your "push" .. and why it should have stayed in your "pant...s"
Good luck and congrats to you both.
Cheers

Its an awesome feeling holding your child for the first time hey. I can only begin to imagine the feeling the mum must have after carrying and growing that child in their womb for nine months. Good luck and get as involved as you can, lap it up, ours are 4 and 5, already it seems long ago.

Mate, forget the 4wd. Did my wife's 2nd in that way in a Falcon, through peak hour to the hospital. Lotsa speed, grunt, and amazing how many people get out of the way when faced with a maniac in a fully fledged panick, with a screaming women trying to exit the vehicle through the window. Just make sure you hit the railway lines at about 120, just enough to compress
the springs and have them let go at the right time as you get to the other side, lauching into the air. Even better downhill. Its the landing that will get the missus moving along.
Congratulations, and hope all goes
well!

I hope you have a thick wallet from now on... Get as much sleep as you can NOW!! because you won't be getting any later....
Take them
camping with you from the very beginning, it is harder to
camp with kids but very rewarding...
