Try APC 60 available from K Mart, Big W and some auto stores for around $200. Sometimes even cheaper when out on special.
Me "
young Bloke" has one fitted to his GU 4.2 and wouldn't be without one.
I have one fitted to a '93 Surf (3 ltr, auto) and I wouldn't be without one either.
Bought my first one around 15 yrs ago and used it in 3 different cars over a 12 yr period. It finally started to play up and rather than fix it, I got another. More modern, smaller and easier to fine tune.
Young bloke got his first one bout 10 yrs ago.
Cheers
Rod

Agree with "itisi". Fitted an AP60 to a 4.2L GQ with turbo, works
well. Connected operating cable alongside handthrottle in cabin, rather than in engine bay.

Greg

I have priced the Autron jobbie; $600- fully fitted (too much for my pocket at this time). Pesty has the AP50 and fitted it while we were
camping down by the Murray last Xmas. Too easy.

Geees Bill, .....too much for your pocket at the time eh. ;-)
I have an AP300 which I find invaluable. I have the keypad at the right of the instrument binnacle, easily reached by the finger from the steering wheel in easy view. It was fitted just above knee height by the fitters and I refitted it to the top.

I use an AP50, but have made an interface so I can run it off the speedo pickup. The only problem with the AP50 is the troublesome magnets fixed to the tailshaft, and the interface fixes that problem.
Saw them at Kmart the other day, still available, less than $200. Comes with a universal kit to fit almost anything, and a video to help you along the way.
I've posted the circuit on the Yahoo Patrol site under Files, Technical, Circuit Diagrams. Patrol Site

Yup!
Just register, it doesn't cost anything. But don't use your primary email address, that's all.
