Where in the Prado can I install the main radio and cradle as there seems very little room under the dashboard. Would under drivers
seat be a good place. I can put the remote head under ashtray in the front of dashboard.

I have a hilux 2000mdl and had the same prob,I mounted the main unit under the passenger's
seat and used silicon to glue the remote head under the ash tray, there for if you ever want to remove it you havent got any screw holes.
Have also used the same setup on my boat with radios onto alloy and they are still intact.

I'd rather have screw holes than silicone. You can never get the crap off.
The head is so small and light that the genuine brand name self adhesive velcro will hold it, and you can get that off. Adhesive included.
Word of warning. If you mount radio gear down low like under a
seat, and then get stuck in the middle of a river, don't expect to be able to call for help. :o)
Been there got the pictures to prove it....

Yayd,
I have just gone through this process. The GME folk told me that they fit them in the left hand kick panel area behind the engine ECU. Unfortunately, the DTronic takes up this space and radio did not fit.
I ended up pulling the centre console out and fitting the radio between the front of the centre console storage bin (separate piece) and the next section of console (the piece with the cup holders in it).
There is ebough space although you will need to place the bracket so that you can slide the radio in and out. To get the radio out, you need to release the handbrake otherwise the lever, when up, will not let you slide the radio into the mounting bracket. I then carefully and neatly drilled a series of holes (in a circular pattern) in the centre console just above the drink holder space for speaker output. I just measured the radio speaker postion and the speaker size and transcribed it to the console. I then covered the console area in masking tape, scribed the circle, divided it by 6 (diameter wise) and had a smaller innner circle as
well. Where the diametr (chords?) crossed the circles I had a neat template for drilling. It all fits very nicely and even my missus thought it looked professional.
The remote head is mounted below the ash tray/cigarette lighter position with the bracket screwed to the surface directly below these items. This way you don't see too many drill holes if you remove it. It is a pain in the A to get a drill in and position it correctly. Use a bit of double sided tape to hold the bracket in place whilst you drill then crew it up. The remote head cable is then run between the forward centre console piece (behind the many switch blanks and 12 V outlet) by filing a neat round slot in the forward edge of the lower console panel (There are 6lower console panels - the storage bin, a cover over the handbrake and gear levers, another lower section around the gear levers, the forward section with balnking plugs and two side pieces that run into either front
seat kick panel area along the transmission tunnel).
I got my 12V for the radio from the accessory plug (cigarette lighter would also have worked) and screwed the mic mount to one of the switch blanking plates so that I can slide the mike in sideways and it then sits in the forward section of the lower console next to the accessory outlet.
It took some exploration to find all of this out but it works a treat. the speaker output is right next to you and the rest is easy access. The lower console is a combination of pull off trim strips then screws and the like. It is not hard to do.........once you know how!

Not sure if this helps but I mounted
mine in a roof console from department of interiors in Carlton
Sydney.
They were great and custom made it. They used the original interior lights and sunglass holders.
There is heaps of room to rum wiring etc through the roof and its easy even up the pillars. I like it up in the roof as it gets it out of the way.
