We are still finalising our itinerary for the trip beginning next weekend and one of the last things I nees to do is look for somewhere to
camp travelling between
Chambers Pillar and Dalhousie. Would like to break this up for a night inbetween. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard
Three months ago we travelled from Dalhousie to
Chambers Pillar. We
camp at Maryvale Station which was free and we took a short cut across from the station to the Ghan Track.
Other
Camp areas were Engoordina
Ruins, you can
camp behind the
sand dunesLambert Centre, New Crown, and Mount Dare are also available. There is very good
water available with a
camp gound about 15 klms before
Dalhousie Springs.
You will enjoy your trip

Thanks for the response. After doing some more mapping we will probably
camp around new Crown I think, and thanks for
the tip on good
water as
well.

Old
Andado is an historically great stop over & a comfortable days drive down to Dalhousie over some interesting tracks.
Mt Dare is another spot with showers,
toilets & a
shop as is Eringa with it's great
waterhole, both an easy half day to
the Springs.

We will no doubt have to stop in at Mt Dare for fuel I would think. Probably the most expensive of anywhere apart from Jervois & Tobermorey I think.
