Swannies have beaten Weagles twice already this year. Let's make it three in a row.

No good Ian.
The moderators, being Sandgropers, would be Eagles supporters anyway:-)

Nudie, I think the Vics will be wrapped just to see so many converging on that great shrine called the MCG to pay homage to that great Victorian game. The rest of the country...
well they just wish they could be there.

Football is the big winner here. Eagles & Swans - one will win and one will come second - congratulations to both teams, and may it be a fair game.

"Cheer, cheer the red and the white. Honour the name by day and by night. Lift that noble banner high. Shake down the thunder from the sky. Whether the odds be great or small. Swans will go in and win over all. While her loyal sons are marching onward to victory."

Great to see after 70 odd years.
Just wasn't he same without the Lions (greatest team of all) in the final game of the season.

OK OK - so the Swans came home by a mere 4 points. Even as a west aussie i have to say after 72 years, they deserved a win. The Eagles are still as good - it could have gone either way. AFL wins -
well matched final contenders, a good game and truly representative of all Australia, not just Vic. Smiles and congratulations to both teams.

I was "on" the Swannies.... only 'cos of the time between flags, so it was good to see 'em win.
But I tell ya, I was very impressed with the speech by Eagles captain Ben Cousins, speaking of his admiration for the Swans effort. When the Lions beat Essondon in 2001, Herd stood on the Posium and all but said that the Lions didn't win, essondon LOST... very bad sportsmanship!
So good on the Eagles for maintaining dignity in an obviously heartbreaking situation..... that's REAL sportsmanship!
