Hi

I have just come across your site and it looks great. Great source of information and knowledge.

We have a 100series petrol Landcruiser and are trying to find out any systems, equipment, aftermarket gizmos that can assist with the fuel consumption and performance. As there are some great processes for inproving diesels, I am hoping to find there is some for the petrol ones as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I am in Sydney (unfortunately) and looking to gear up and get out there.

JennyM,

The most cost effective is LPG. I own an 80Series petrol and have booked it for the conversion, looks like an 8 week delay due to demand. The biggest hold up is the supply of tanks. APA in Victoria have 2000 tanks on backorder and the ability to produce 400 per week.

Hi Jenny,

I'm not 100% sure but doesn't the hiclone product work on petrols as well, this is supposed to increase fuel economy by up to 10%??. Google hiclone and you will get your answer for sure.

Also a more expensive way to increase fuel economy would be to put extractors and or free flowing exhaust system on, again increases of up to 10% can sometimes be achieved. Depending on how you drive once you have all the extra power that accompanies this mod. :-))

If you have accesories on your car like roof rack and other heavy items, remove these when they are not needed to achieve much better fuel consumption.

That's my 2 bob's worth, not doubt others will add to this list. It is hard to decide to get out of Sydney but once you do you won't look back in so many ways. Speaking from experience.

Cheers Trevor.

Trevor
I'd like to ask you some questions about your car if it's a diesel and if you don't mind.
Thanks, Derek, Brisbane

HI Jenny, You will see just what happens when you have a FITCH FUEL CATALYST fitted , users of this product are tellig me they are saving two litres of fuel for each 100klms driven, more power ,less emissions and very kind to your motor.
Many of readers of this forum are quite ignorant and dissbelieving of this product, but as I have been using it for the past four years I can tell you it really works, they unfortunatly dont know but still offer remarks??????????
.So I suggest that you have it fitted and then get back to this forum and post your findings, and remember it has a 90day money back guarantee so if you are not satisfied with its performance you WILL get your money back. Check out the website and find a fitter near you and start saving. This product is advertised on this site it works on petrol and diesels alike.

Am sitting here, fingers poised at the ready, when the voice of SWMBO booms over my right shoulder upon reading the above....." LEAVE IT ALONE!!".......Damn! and I didn't even say anything. How did she know?
Oh well, seeing as I always do as she tells me (chuckling quietly to myself)........

Bill sells the Fitch but never mentions this fact in his posts, as it will reveal his "advice" as being prejudiced.

Snake oil!!
Add this specially formulated additive to your tank, and begin to save on fuel bills, immediately!
In fact 2 small droplets will last forever, and you never need to fill up ever again!
Drive a lifetime on a single tank of fuel (compatible with all fuels).
In fact you don't even need fuel! Just add water! Turns water into the fuel of the future! :)
The only problem is getting your hands on those specially formulated snakes!
Once this has been achieved, you just wring the neck and wait for any viscous fluid to seep out, carefully placing the secreting orifice over the fuel filler of your vehicle. 2 drops is all thats needed........!

Just be aware that most fuel saving devices either dont work or are marginal at best.

Removing the roof rack, and better exhaust are the ones more likely to have an impact on economy, and of course LPG.

I fitted two Hiclone's as advised by the dealer to my 4.8L Nissan Patrol, total waste of time as there was no noticeable increase in fuel consumption,I removed them and by fitting a snorkel and improving my exhaust flow gave me appoximatley a 10% increase in fuel consumption and an increase in torque, I tow a heavy tamden off road caravan so I know about fuel consumption.

A block of wood under the accelerator pedal. Cheaper than a Ficht, Cyclone, Exaust and LPG. Adjust size to alter consumption. So simple. I love it. Have been advertised on eBay in the past.

Hi everyone

What a great response to my question. I think the snake oil probably is the best bet, but to get my husband to use the block of wood is certain to improve economy. He does not agree, but I know that he drives a bit more agressively in the LC compared to the Diesel Hilux he previously had.

Has anyone any experience with Unichip. Someone I spoke to last night mentioned it as an option.

Thanks

Jenny

Inichip will increase power and torque so the car is more easy on the
go, but don't count on big improvement in fuel economy.

Bill,

I am unsure why so many have a go at you when you respond with your thoughts, (maybe I've missed something before I joined the forum) if this product is yours then maybe people would respect your opinion more if you told them so. Would not make a difference to me personally but that's just me, if I ask a question I want peoples opinion biased or unbiased, and I can do more homework on the answers I like.
I wish you every business success ank keep your opinions coming, or this forum becomes one of the "others" mundane.

Best regards Trevor.

HI Trevor, Thanks for your remarks, in answer to your question as to why derogative remarks are directed at myself is because these remarks are from uneducated {in relation to fuel} sceptics.
I make remarks that are convayed to me via users of this product,as well as knowing thru my own testing. Trevor use it yourself and then post your findings for all to see. And then all can start saving on fuel costs and engine wear..and look after OUR environment.
