Sounds like a fun short trip, thanks for the report.

I'd been hoping to make it Monday, but that thing called work got in the way. Am planning on heading that way tomorrow instead.

It doesn't sound like you followed the '4WD day trip' route but instead worked out your own route. There are plenty of tracks by the sound of it.

Where the non beach tracks okay? Nice and damp I'm guessing so not too difficult?

We followed the first part of the main road then deviated further south,
and followed part of it on the way out. And near way point 4 where the there is a right turn we continued straigh on along the fence line.

The trip in the book goes up the beach between waypoint 2 & 3 so we left that bit out. The non beach tracks were fine, no real problem, and there are lots of them.

Enjoy yourself tomorrow.

Alan,

I will move this into the Trip/Gathering report system as this keeps the details all in the correct place. Thanks for the day we had a good time.

Alan,

You needed to go into the Edit Trip Gathering button and the Report options would have been shown. I have added the report as you and loaded 7 pics. I removed the original post and moved the replies etc to this thread.

We had a good day and enjoyed it immensely. I am glad that we still have the opportunity to drive in beach conditions so close to Perth.

I hope everyone noticed that David's Cruiser pulling out Alan's Nissan LOL!!!

Alan,

I did the trip today following the '4wd day trips' trek notes, and you'll be pleased to note there was not a sign of recently bogged Nissans - plenty of rain has filled in the holes no doubt!!

Sand packed nicely, no need to drop pressures until around the fishermans huts. Wildflowers fantastic closer to Guilderton in the burnt out areas - real live kangaroo paws in droves. Seeing our state emblem in it's natural habit was a real treat for the kids.
