Anyone had any experience with the "Outback" range of draw systems and fridge slides.

They are sold by ARB in Perth and I quite liked the look of them.

Any comments as to quality, problems, good thing or not??

I've had one for years, and it's been in two vehicles now. It's generally well made - all except for those damn cheap door slide locks they use. Pathetic - considering the asking price. Mibe have broken the vertical keepers long ago - so when you pull them up to unlock the drawer, the lock shaft comes out of the lock body in your hand.

Otherwise - no rattles or anything.

Truckster,

I'm looking for comment on the specific make of _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx. I don't want to know how to make 'em, I don't want to know about "Black Widow" and all the other makes etc, I don't want see pics of how other people had 'em fitted.

I want to know about the make - "Outback". That make and no other.

It doesn't come up in a search. Or should I say, I can't make it find that manufacturer in a search.

Thanks for your help.

G'day

I have a set, along with the water tank, in mu GU. Quality gear. Use the search feature "outback draws" or similar and see what you get.

Regards

Paul

I have had the Outback drawer & fridge slide for about 4 years. No real problems.
I have had similar problem to Chrispy with the lock. But they are easy to pull apart and fix. The only problem in a 100 Series is that when you put the Engel in it is a bit high for SWMBO to reach in to get my stubbies out.

Had a dual drawer with fridge slide in a 60 series over 13 years. The only problem I had was cracking in the base on the fridge side. There wasn't enough reinforcing to prevent the sideways flexing of the support with a fridge installed, a quick reweld & horizontal support solved that issue.

It took 10 years[I think] of use to fracture the support.

My other addition to the design was a shell to keep gear of the the side walls of my fridge[rather like a tunnel] because I have a Trailblaza and it uses the sides for cooling & to modify the fridge-slide-stops because it was the PITA to remove the slide!

Good piece of gear.
