Very popular, but last year there were not a lot of camps along the river, so its a bit of pot luck.

We were there last February 12 months ago
Camped along the Wanagatta River. Only a couple of other Camps both at
Talbotville along the River and the Valley
We planned it ,that we would be there just as the kids were going back to school
Main issues
1.The Rubbish people leave behind over Christmas (we cleaned up near our
camp)
2. The Flies generated form the Rubbish and some peoples idea of a
toilet (without a shovel)
Make sure you have fly spray with you
By the look of the Area there were a lot of
camp site over the Christmas Period but it is a big Area

I've been there with a tag along tour in mid Jan, and other than our group of 9 vehicles, there were probably less than 10 other single car
camp sites in the area. Later that year on the Australia Day long weekend, I took some friends back there, and it was busier than
Bourke Street. Trail bikes coming in and out, kids on mini bike doing laps of the
campsite, tents caravans everywhere. Needless to say we kept going.
One thing to keep in mind is that
Talbotville is accessible by 2wd from
Dargo.

In the Xmas / new year period I'd estimate that between 20 to 30 cars will be camped at
Talbotville proper & the same again camped up & down the river at other spots nearby. You will be able to find a
good campsite in the area along the Crooked & Wonnangarra rivers although at that time of year I personally would give Talbottville a miss, too many D*** H***s.
Cheers Craig..............

Just a suggestion. Go out past the Pioneer Racecourse. There are some great
camp sites on the Wongungarra River around 37 18 38 S 147 01 55E.
