HI
Does anyone know if you can change the settings from
Miles to Kilometers on a Magellan Color GPS Unit bought in the US.
Not worried about the preloaded basemaps, as I'll be using DiscoverAus, just want to make sure that instead of reading in
miles I can read in Kilometers.
Thanks
Neil

Click menu, set-up, nav units. Then choose the units you want.
I don't envy you trying to use the unit without the Australian Basemap. As you zoom out you will go from detailed maps to almost nothing fairly quickly.
I'd recommend changing over to the Australian Basemap.

Ron,
I would kind of disagree with you in regards to Discover Aus (old version)
The "old" version lacks sufficient detail. The new release is only available on SD card which allows loading to a Magellan GPS, but not to a Laptop.
I had a discussion with the Next Destination rep at the
Adelaide 4WD Show on the weekend, checked out the new version and will probably buy it when it is available on CD. (Next year I am told)
So I will wait until a CD version has been released and make up my mind then. At present, the new release lacks flexibility IMHO.
I am almost a convert. Since I purchased OziExplorer I hardly use anything else. (Except when using the GPS as a stand-alone unit)
