old nick, im a little biased however i believe you have made a great choice.
that model with the multi valve are like hens teeth to find. How you found one with such low klms is astounding. I would be interested to know what you paid as i know that they hold their resale value strongly.
All the best, tiger

Thanks Tiger60, I paid too much I think but was really wrapped when Idrove it. It has never been off road and has spent the last 2 years on blocks in a shed in Adelaide stored. It has all the extras ie turbo timer , dual batteries bullbar, 2 spares (never used),vehicle still has original tyres fitted. The accessory list is fullhouse and the vehicle in showwroomm condition. Cost me $36k. Toooo much!!
A mate of mine whomm is a trained Toyota mechanic said I wont regret the purchase even though it is older, because he said alot of people are buying 4 cylinder turboed Nissans that are 4 years younger but there is no comparison for the money spent in comparison to the Cruiser. Your thoughts Tige regards Nick

Nick,
Great buy, when I was looking around to replace my 92 model 80Series I couldn't find one that was any better than the one I had and then they wanted top dollar for them.

Hang on to it, the way the 100 Series are going the 80 Series and Troopies are the only real 4WD to have.

Hi Old Nick,

I think the old saying still applies mate - "You get what you pay for"

You may have paid top dollar but you won't regret it. You have purchased one of the best vehicles ever made. It is always best to buy one of the last models of series than the first of the next series. The manufactures have usually perfected that model by then.

Cheers,
Brett

Yes you are probably right Brett, but sometimes people get carried away with vehicles, as you know most of them do depreciate. I have always respected my mate (the Toyota Technician) for advice on them and his thoughts are the same as yours-- look at the big end troubles the early 80 series had! Thanks for yourassuring reply Brett,I will get abitumen road report when my son and his wife get back from Adelaide this arvo in it. Knowing him it will come back off road for some of the trip via the Canunda National Park -Southend to Carpenter Rocks Regards Nick

Congrats, these are limo's and dont have anything other than wear and tear problems to report on. (which you are 100.000kms away from.)
Sorry, one thing only...Front diff can be broken if you try to reverse snatch anything, dont do any strenuous work in reverse with it. If you want to minimise the problem, have an arb front air locker installed....alot stronger...
36k is alot, 2 years ago,i know someone who paid 46k for a similar cruiser, and he was happy because it was exactly what he wanted.
Best cruiser made so far.

I have the 92 model turbo diesel 80 series and would love to have the multi valve motor.... They are arguably the best motor Toyota stuck in one of these suckers...

congrats on your purchase.

I remember about 3 years ago my old boss traded his 60 series cruiser. His vehicle was the last year they made them. It only had 76 000kms on it when he traded it. Spent most of its life sitting in his shed and still had the original tyres. Was only ever put in 4wd twice (maybe not a good thing?) and both times was when he got stuck in mud in a grassy car park when it rained.

These deals are out there if you look hard enough and are willing to pay for them.
