Hi guys,

Anyone got a good feel for river levels around Bendethera at the moment?? - we're off there on the weekend. Vehicle with least clearance/fording ability is an XTrail.

Ivan,

Hard to say until you get there. If the river is up a bit, put a blind on the XTrail and tow it across the river.

Ivan

I was there weekend before last, water was only a couple of feet deep with a hard bottom so you should have no trouble.

As any regular visitor will tell you the river levels can rise and fall quickly due to the huge catchment area. We've seen the river rise a foot or more in an hour and we didn't have any rain at all but obviously was raining somewhere upstream.
As you are in a relatively narrow closed in valley with a restricted view of the sky the weather can change quickly too.

Sounds like you are coming from the Moruya side. You can always come in from Araluen side and the track is more fun.

The boys are taking the bikes in from Araluen, the support crew (wives) are driving in the 4by's, & supplies from Moruya!!

Steve, a couple of big storms have past through over night. I'm on the Braidwood road out of Captains Flat and have found that any rain after mid week the river will be up to the top of the wheels and flowing fast.

It needs a couple of dry days to drop to a safe level.
