Just wondering what people think of the OzTent. They look quite good - easy to put etc. Back exactly how do people find them to camp with/in.

Thanks.

palmy,

We have had one for 3 years now and find it excellent. Very quick to put up but you should be aware that unless you have a troopy it has to go on the roof rack as it is very long when folded up.

Cheers

Palmy

Absolutely brilliant!
Search the archives and you will find heaps of threads about them.
They are long when packed and are really suited to travel on a roof rack but they actually do fit back in the original bag.
The RV4 holds three swags no probs. There's enough room to stand and move around unless your super tall.
Not the cheapest thing going around but an absolute peice of #iss to use.

Cheers
Wal.

Had one for about 7 years been brilliant, we estimate its been up about 350 - 400 nights and still a good tent, although now partically retired as we have new camper trailer.

I am onto my second Oztent (RV4 with deluxe side and front panels) and love it. The side panels allow for an extra room and the front panel can form an annexe if I need that as well.

They are a bit long and as has been said earlier, need to be on a roof rack. I have the Ozpod and find loading it into that a breeze.

Never had any water get inside, despite some pretty tough weather. Handles strong winds etc ...

In my opinion, a terrific tent.

We have the pod on roof fits tent walls and eating shelter plus a few extras. Also done lots of weekends and holidays with it, I just love it. No wear or tear so far. I don't think you could wrong or feel disappointed if you purchase one

We have had a oz tent for 10 years and every time we use it, we never regret buying it .So easy and fast to erect. It is long once packed up, I couldn't fit it in the back of the Triton twin cab so we bought a roof box.

I agree with the above comments, very fast to put up,in fact the only alternative to a roof top which is the utimate providing you can climb.
Only problem is size,ie length,I bought an Oz pod but found it was just too high to lift up on a raised Patrol.
What I built was a small rack with sides on which allowed side loading.
The rack side on the outside of the truck folded down and a support bar swings out, rest the end of the tent on the bar then lift the other end and swing in.
a lockable clamp then comes down for security, works great and you only have to lift one end of the tent at any time during the loading process.
