Lone Wolf
... no, not Christmas, and no, not New Year, but another sort of Caring & Sharing time....
.... "Show & Tell."
I know it's been done once before, but we've had an influx of new members and visitors since then, so I thought it'd be good to do it all over again...
... write in, and tell us all, why you've chosen the
membership / visitor names that you use here, and on other forums.
I'll start.
"Lone Wolf" was coined, because of a set of carriers I'd made for the rear of one of my vehicles. I didn't want to have to make any more, for others, and at the same time, I wanted to give what I'd made, a sort of bona fide, so I had some Lone Wolf stickers made up, which now give them the bought from America look about them. I liked the name, so it stuck.
Any others...?
Cheers
Wolfie

OK, I an number 44 looking at this post and no answer yet.
Shame on the rest of you :-)
My original monicker was old plodder.
EO have changed to John C on
membership. Fustrations, will have to work out how to get it back.
Old plodder, because I used to be called plodder.
All my friends had the V8 toranas, hot commodores and fords.
Straight drag speed they used to always beat me in my slightly modified cooper S.
But on a longer run (50k plus), or a dash across town, I was usually still there with them, just, so I got called plodder. In the tail end but just kept going. I always seem to have the slower car horse power wise.
Got rid of the mini and bought a stock 73 beetle (fiance was worried about my driving at the time). But still managed to keep up. Got 105mph down the liverpool ranges on our honeymoon, and 3rd used to really pull (for a beetle) up to 80mph.
Got a 85 NB pajero (2.6l and 76kw) when friends had patrols and cruisers, and fords and commodores.
But that NB pajero could still do central
Sydney to
Brisbane in 10.5 hours, and
Canberra to
Brisbane in under 12 hours.
Now the
grey hair has come, I am an old plodder.

G'day Wolfie,
I grew up in Western Australia and thankfully, my Father got bush into me early. We had (and still have) a place at Dwelling up on 60 acres. Some great memories...and I scattered my Mother's ashes there. I covered a fair bit of WA with my emoployment. I start scratching walls and getting annoyed in the city. The bush is good medicine to me, I instantly feel better when I am there or planning to get there. Hence, "bushfix."

Wolfie,
I was christened Wayne 53 years ago, so that is easy to follow but i sign off as "Always Out' N About".
This is from the days when I had a 4wd
shop and required a business name. Out' N About 4WD was the company name and even though the company has folded I kept the Out' N About because that is what I do a lot of these days.

I started visiting this site late last year and although do not respond often when an issue came up I had to create a name and decided to use Rotty as our pet 12yr old rotty had to recently put down due to age and severe arthritis that would not allow her to walk or stand. We had her from a pup and was part of the family.
regularly accessing this site certainly confirms my thoughts on all of the printed 4 wheel (read - Toyota) magazines in that they are a waste of money unless you wish to believe in what the advertising dollar says is true.

I'm me cause my longest serving mates of 25yrs call me tonester or tonemeister. The second one is too hard to spell. Real name = Anthony, and I tend to confuse people by swapping back & forth all the time. Told my very first employer at very first meeting - He says "Is it Anthony or Tony?". Reply - "Either one. Usually only my friends call me Tony". Job didn't last long. Hey, I was young & dumb.

After our dog, whose name is Snapper but she gets called hog or hoggy by the kids more often. Goes out in the yard every morning to mark her turf in case any interlopers have trespassed on her block during the night. She sounds more like a warthog than a dog while doing this. Also uses her snout to bury her bones, coming back inside with crap all over her face when the job is done.
