Cooma via Tom Groggan to Bairnsdale then up to Benalla, the trek thats in Exploroz trip planning, now i know without the camper it's fairly easy depending on the weather but we only travel with the camper so what do you think or has anyone done this with a camper.

Hi Red

All depends on your revesing skills, how long the draw bar is (longer is easy to reverse but you get hung up more on the drains)

Try working out how sharp a bend you can get around if the drawbar is long then it will tend to cut the corner if it is more standard it will follow the vehicle far better.

a hand winch to winch it around a tight corner works well by all reports with out droping it off the edge.

I have not done the track yet by from mittagong to wollambi some of the corners would have tested the camper.

Have fun I full of envy

G'day Baz, appart from being a bit windy its fine. When you get to the Park Entry on the way to Thredbo, tell them you are going through and not stopping.

To get to Bairnsdale are you going down through Omeo? If you are once again its a very windy road from Mitta Mitta to Omeo. From there to Bairnsdale is not to bad.

I will be in the Mitchell River area after the NY. for about 3 days.

OK so apart from sharp bends, pretty much fairly easy is it.

Sharp bends for me are no problem as my reversing skills are pretty good, being an ex artic driving instructor/driver.

G'day Baz ,
We should get together and check out the maps before your trip .
We could do a linkup in the early stages - but then we are going deep into the scrub with no set itinerary - so a link up would be very difficult after Dec. 30th .
I have seen camper trailers in tow on the trip you have outlined - but it depends on which particular tracks you intend to transverse .
