It's not often these days of profit maximisation that you get a good service report, so here's one for you. After a recent 5k trip up Diamantina country I got back to find the front left Koni to be weeping a bit of oil, all others fine. Rang Toperformance in Melbourne (the OZ distributor) to find someone local to put a new seal in it. The shock is 2+ years old and has more than 40K on it.
Rather than give me the name and number of the local shock bloke they were more interested in how old it was, how may K's had it done and where did I get it. I was asked to confirm the part# and date code stamped on it and then told they could replace it under warranty. Since I don't have a spare they hit my credit card for the price of a new shock, couriered it up to Sydney, included return courier vouchers and credited my credit card when my old shock was recieved by them. End of story.

Great to hear a good news story for a change. I have a sneaking suspicion it happens a lot more than we hear about. Human nature being what it is, we generally concentrate on the bitch/whinge/"not happy Jan" incidents (as portrayed on those interminable current affairs shows).

Well done Toperformance in Melbourne.

Outbacktourer,

Just went thru the same with my 80 series
Found LHR leaking, 2 yrs old and done 25000k. Contacted GSA suspension at Slacks Creek Brisbane where i bought them, replaced shock with brand new unit. Koni wanted date code, model no etc and the no of turns originally adjusted.

was very happy with GSA and Koni.

Found it strange that it was leaking so early, have had 3 vehicles with Koni's and have never had a failure and one was a rally car!

Regards

Greg
