Change of name

Hey there all :)

I have a problem with people who change their names here on this site to avoid being hassled over something stupid they said - or are just here to make trouble under an assumed name that can't be easily traced.

Therefore - I'm hereby declaring that the person you used to know as "chrispy" is now known as "omaroo".

It's the name of our property - so now I'm calling myself that here so that I don't forget either who I am or where I'm from.

Cheers
Omaroo :)

(well....Chris really...)

Oh I change my handle from time to time just to annoy those who want to be annoyed

Our place's name is Windsong..... maybe I can change to that. But then again...maybe that sounds too placid.

Hey there is a place in Namibia(Africa) called Omaruru. I lived there once in the dark ages.

Where is your rig pic?

Cheers

How's that for a coincidence.

Our address in Aliso Viejo, California was "Windsong".... and you lived at an "Omarruru".

Just as well we don't have a name for our place.

I lived in Namibia for a short while. We lived in Swakopmund and used to pass through Omaruru on our travels to Etosha or the Waterberg Plateau.

What a small world.

Hi Ando

Yes a small world indeed.

I worked for a company by the name of FCU collecting karakul pelts from the farmers. I think it was the year 1964.

Over time we have criss crossed South West Africa/ Nambia from Ai Ais in the south to the northern border at Ruakarna and Vila Perez in Angola and beyond.

Have visted Swakopmund on a number of occasions and have done the road up to Cape Cross, Usakos, a visit to the 'White Lady', the Petrified Forest and a memorable journey through Etosha, just to name a few.

My last visit there was in 1984. Must go again one day.

Cheers

Hey - who do I talk to about it on the "other" forum?

I've often thought about changing my "handle" to properly reflect myself but most moderators object to a$$hole so I just stick to Russell.

I did use CHOP on one over 50s site and eventually someone asked me what it meant and I got in trouble.

Regards
Russell

Hmmm,

This topic came up a few weeks ago. We collectively decided Luxoluk should change his name to locust!

We have changed his rig pic to more accurately reflect his wheels... now about that name change Leigh....

Well Chrispy, (sorry omaroo)

I preferred Chrispy. You had established a specific personality under that name.

Now you have to re-establish your "new" personality under the new screen name.

bugga, its too hard.

WELCOME TO EXPLOROZ OMAROO!

Thanks Sand Man :)

"Chrispy" is a kid's name I've had for 40 years or so, and I'm kind of over it..... but I know what you mean about establishing a personality which needs to be transferred. I guess it was time to bight the bullet and go with the new persona on all the forae (is that a word?) I visit.

hehe... thanks for the welcome! :)
