Also, I have just noticed this little gem...

[ View Image]

Didn't know we could be doing this on this particular forum.

When are we going to be able to have the images embedded in this field, instead of opening another window?

Shouldn't make any difference to bandwidth for the site, as it simply pulls the image off the server thru peoples browsers.

Don't I have to then lock my pics up, until the thread is archived?

On other forums I use, you simply use the [img] command, and it loads from your own server, and onto this page, with no determent to forum bandwidth or speed.

By doing this, the the site still keeps it's readers within the confines of the site, along with it's intended purpose, and keeps advertisers happy, instead of sending viewers directly out of the site, and to who knows where...

Also, when doing a show & tell, it becomes more fluid, to add text beneath the picture tags, so it becomes more informative for viewers.

Yeah, like can you now delete that picture in your gallery? Try it, and see what happens, 'cause it's linked to this thread. Maybe I got it wrong..... dunno....

Takes about a month before it is archived and you can delete it.

So, you have two choices...

Wait until the thread is archived.

Write something awful, and get the thread deleted.

Yeah ok Wolfie - I hear you. I did it the other way to ensure that I did not lose the RHS margin that contains the Page Sposnors artwork but I can see that the piece of code I wrote to open a new window could be used to force a set of dimensions to ensure that the image cannot be too wide or high. I will look into this asap and see if I can work out a solution that will work for all concerned.

I discovered that - glad to hear it unlocks when the thread is archived. I put a picture on, and it appears twice in my gallery (now BOTH locked). I tried posting it 3 times, each time it showed the link but no picture when i submitted the post. Anyone curious will have to look at my picture gallery.

Would be good if we good easily slip pictures and emoticons in from our computers without having to load into gallery at all - that would make some of the threads a lot more colourful. And we could show off a lot more - 6 pics isn't many.

Also lets not forget that there are still large numbers with dialup connections and keep our pics to a suitable download size.

As always David, you are on the ball, and quick to act.

Thank you.
