Planning a trip to Tassy for next summer. I have seen, as no doubt most people have, the effects that logging has on the native bush land. 1500 year old forests don't recover overnight from destruction. I'm sure i will experience enough unspoilt beautiful bush next year to satisfy my needs. I'm hoping my children and grand children are able to experience it also before it's gone.

In the 80's I went across the Simpson and around Oz with the family before they put 6 lane highways everywhere. Went around Oz 5 years later to see the changes. Glad I went the first time !
It appears that change is the only constant these days.

Most of the old native growth forests are locked up down here, regardless of what the greenies will tell you.If you come down here and only look for logged bush thats just what you'll see.If you open your eyes and look further afield you'll see a beautiful place with plenty of bush left.

I know people need to make a living but I remember one fact about the Franklin River dam episode in he 1980's. All of the workers on the failed dam got jobs elsewhere! Is it possible that all of the loggers and associated industries would also obtain other work? Think of the tourists that would pay to visit a pristine, unique land. No one would pay to see a logged area.
