MOONDARRA, ERICA
The fire near Erica in the Moondarra State Park has burned about 3500 ha.
CFA advises that ember attack is expected for properties in Rusks & Telbit Rds in the Erica District, and the fire front is threatening these areas.

A wind change is moving the fire in an easterly direction. This means that properties around Jacobs Creek & Old Coach Rds may be impacted. All local residents should be alert to ember attacks and are urged to activate their bushfire plans and take immediate precautions against radiant heat.

The main Moe-Erica and Erica-Walhalla Rds are closed to public traffic, only local traffic may use the Tyers-Erica Rd (Tyers-Walhalla Road) or any other roads in the vicinity of the fire. All access roads into the Moondarra state forest are closed. The fire will be producing a lot of smoke in the surrounding area.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We live just off the Tyers - Walhalla Road & have been warned to be on full alert tomorrow, we had burnt debris falling yesterday & today, if the wind shifts to the North West it could very well head our way, according to the CFA it could take as little as 2 hours. It's times like this that I wish we had a brick house & not Cedar!

G'Day Paul,
I'm just down on the flats next to the hospital, if you need to get stuff out give me a ring 51348553. I've got F100 tray & can get the trailer from here if needed.

Good luck Paul. With 12 fires out of control resources are stretched to the limit. They are talking about possible interstate help.

Storms moving up central Vic as well

If you are staying this is a good site to let you know where the fire actually is if smoke makes that difficult
www.sentinel.csiro.au/mapping/viewer.htm
has heaps of features.
hope that helps
hang in there

Thanks for another good site Mary.

The Tyrendarra fire is getting worse by the sound of it. At least the temps have dropped if nothing else.
