Anyone have any info on the 2.5L TD in the new ST-X. I'm thinking of one but after being burnt by the Ford 2.5L TD in my Transit, I'm a bit wary!

Went had a look at one at my local Nissan dealers last week. Approx. $50K drive away! Was very impressed with the features and the controls/dash layout, and the 6 speed manual gearbox January 06 issue of "Overlander" magazine has a write up on it! Add-ons seem to be a bit over the top price wise.

Thanks Macka

Are you going to throw the swag in the back and head off?

Ian

P.S I've got an ABN so it's about $45000

I bought a ST-X 2.5 TD just before Xmas. Cost me $48,000 on road with steel bull bar, Nissan snorkle, Nissan bin liner, soft tonneau cover, fog lights, weathershields, mobile phone kit, UHF fitted with aerial, tow bar and electrics. To say I am delighted with it (only 8,000 kms so far) is an understatement. The thing is briliant - towed a 2,200 kg van up Macquarie Pass in third, 110 k/h on freeway in 6th, heaps of room, solid as any nissan ever built. I could go on and on but you get the message - go buy one they are bloody brilliant!!
Forget the scaremongers with tis engine - it is redesigned and rebuilt and perfoms like no others!
(well that should get some smart assed comments from other jealous non-owners!)

Thanks apwaddo,

I believe the engine has been available in Europe or USA for the last 4 years and was hoping someone may have past knowledge. I couldn't believe the specs - 128kw power and 400 and something of torque - from a 2.5L. I hear it meets Euro 3 emission standards as well. I wonder why not the new Euro 4 standards?

apwaddo,
You got a great deal at 48K with the accessories. As I said in my post, my local dealer wanted 50K on road, minus and add-ons.
Any chance of sharing your dealers name? Im in the outer Sydney area.

It was the local Nissan Dealer in Albury. As it was a novated lease I got just short of $5,000 discount.

Personaly if your worried about being burnt wait for everyone else to buy one first and read the reviews, let others learn the hard way. However Nissan have got really good at replacing Navara motors now i'm sure they can do it in a day. They may even through in a cup of coffee while you wait. A bit wary ask the zd30 owners about blow ups???? THe Nav though does look good, def improved form the old model.
