"sonar" tyres - any comment?

G'day, I'm getting some new tyres for my landrover (235/85R16). Due to not having won lotto yet, I'm looking for cheaper options than pirelli's etc.(around $240).
I've been offered Sonar tyres at $130 each, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and could give me feedback before I buy. I do about 80% road 20% offroad. I was hoping to get BFG Trac-Edge's in the above size but am having trouble finding them.
I am in SW Sydney, so if anyoune knows a good cheap ntyre dealer in the area I'd love to hear of it.

Alex, Kelly make a 235 "Safari" tyre at a reasonable price. I've been happy with the ones I've had.

Kelly 4by tyres aren't being imported now as I understand it from enquiries several months ago. I have a 99% spare and nothing with it to go with. Bugga

John, I bought a set last May/June. They had to get them in from Brisbane. When I first enquired, I got the same response, I think it might be a dealer thing. Perhaps asking around might bring you luck ?

As you say ...a cheap tyre and they are as good as you get at this price...do not compare them with any other tyre ...nothing else is in this price bracket...

I have a trac edge as a spare and they are only a 2 ply sidewall normal tyre. i was told they arnt made anymore. I found the Kellys to be a fairly good road oriented AT
