Spent a few hours at the Queanbeyan 4WD and camping show yesterday and gotta say this country show, which is run by 3 of the local 4WD clubs, is right up there with any of the big commercial ones. Still got all the usual stuff but the test track is something else. Also one of the clubs has released an interactive CD of Campgrounds in SE NSW and ACT which is really worth looking at. If you've got some spare time and in the vicinity - I'd recommend a look.

I'm heading in there today. Not looking for bargins just looking.

Just goes to show that you don't need corporate bodies to run an event.

Hi..
Can't get to the show (in Melb), but the cd sounds interesting.
Do you have more details about it ? What was the cost and can you get it mail order ?
Thanks
Neil

Understand that something will be going up on the Club's website in the not too distant future. I bought a copy and I reckon this is the way of the future. Interactive maps, gps waypoints, good description c/w digital pics, and many have OziExplorer plot files and long hand descriptions of location and how to get there. Wouldn't be too surprised to see others go down this track in the future. This CD has 220 sites in SE NSW and ACT, the Flinders Ranges and a smattering in other parts. The CD has been released by the Land Rover Club of the ACT - LRC ACT.

Patrol22,

I was there yesterday and what a great show.

I met so many friends that have been away with me on trips before. Some from Sydney and a lot from Canberra.

What I like is that there are no caravans. Camper trailers, tents and a lot of fridge sales. All the usual displays and a few more that don't go to the "big" shows.

Well worth the entry fee.
