Hi All,
See in todays S.A. Sunday Mail where Transport S.A. want to change Rego premiuns from engine sizes to the weight of the vehicles.
Another WAMMY for the 4x4 owner. We pay enough now, Price of diesel fuel, taxes (GST) when travelling and for accomadation, price of tyres and so it goes on.
The b----y Government never stop, my ownership of a 4x4 may soon be short lived as can't have it all on a pension.

These polly's are as thick as two planks. You don't need to be an accountant to work out the numbers.
Government increases the cost of rego for 4WD's., trucks, etc.
People stop buying them, choosing a three cylinder shoebox instead.
Government then loses revenue and needs to increase the cost to maintain their budgeted income.
At the same time, the cost of rego for a Truck becomes a burden on the owner/operator and therefore the cost of freight needs tp go up accordingly.

Oh, and bank fees will go through the roof because Roachie's rig weighs in excess of three ton and he isn't about to offload it.

The govt should just increase the amount of speed/red light cameras even more, up the penalties to raise the additional required revenue. Then those that are speeding will cop the bil, not the 4wders who sit on the speed limit and do the right thing.
