The EO BBQ gathering, held at Jacobs Well, was well attended by many from far and near. With at least 12 vehicles, adorned with EO wheel covers and stickers, there may have been reason to think that EO might have been making a takeover bid for the Jacobs Well boat ramp and surrounds.
Not a single bad word can be said about any of the members that made the effort to attend. (I won’t start about those that didn’t make the effort hehehehe) Out of the 25 – 30 people that turned up (maybe more ??) I would have thought there would have been someone I could bitch about but ohhhh no everyone was in good spirits and on their best behavior. (maybe it's me everyone else will bitch about lol)
I gather, out of this get together, there will be a few more (maybe a tad more adventurous) get togethers or weekend trips, of which I most certainly would like to be a part of.
Special guest for the day was non other than the honorable (?? hehehe) “Mr. Gramps”. Good effort, but the story about you driving all the way from Sydney just for the gathering does make me think you had an ulterior motive.
The real enthusiasm award must however go to Greg, Vanessa and Kiandra, I don’t think there would have been to many others that would have driven 3-4 hrs each way for a BBQ, and for that I thank you and bestow this prestigious award upon you.
Overall a more enjoyable day, amongst some new found friends, you could not ask for. Thanks to everyone that turned up.

Until the next one Mine and Judy’s best regards to all.

Cheers Trevor.

The photo's have already been entered for the "Pick this Pic" comp, if that doesn't give us Banana Benders a headstart nothing will.
Seriously though, I don't know how to do that photo bucket thingy, or I would post the 2 photo's roofscooter has sent me.

Cheers Trevor.

I think all that attended were what made the day enjoyable. I just planted the seed.
We will have to do it again soon.

Trevor,
Thank you and thanks to all the other members for making us welcome. It was great to meet you all and put a face to the people I have read about and talk to via this forum. We got home safe, well, nearly didn't as some clown in a corolla wagon changed lanes while we along side of him, and he kept moving over even though he saw us. I had to really test the ABS, as it was either take him out or go down into the centre drain in the middle of the highway, and neither were an option. By the way the brakes work bloody well, and glad we have a cargo barrier.
To Wim and Judy, Vanessa is still carrying on about the smell of those garlic prawns. Don't know if you have a best lunch award but we have taken the liberty and give it to you guy's.
Overall a great day and glad we made the trip.

Greg

G'day Greg,
There's always one clown that tries to stuff up a good day isn't there. Shame you didn't have those side protection bars to give him a nudge back into his own lane.
Glad everyone came through safe though.
Mate, I didn't realize how far you had travelled till Trevor just informed me, huge effort, I'm glad you did though, as it was great meeting you and your family, hope you can make it down for the nexy one, hopefully this time with a bit of wheelin involved.

Perry doesn't know it yet but it will be he who has to make the effort for the next one....somewhere up round your place hey?
Good to see you made it back safely, sad you have to take such drastic actions to make it home at all though.

Cheers mate, till the next one. Trevor.

G'day all,
It's the "other person" here, thanks for the photo's Bob ! Hahaha
A BIG thank you has to go to Trevor for the effort he went to in organising and doing weekend recon trips to find this great spot, even if it was on the wrong side of town for himself. Well done on a very selfless job mate.
Have to agree with everything said so far,it was an absolute pleasure to meet every single person I met today (and I tried to make that everyone), thank you all, especially those that had to travel long distances and/or had other commitments, for making today a great day with great people washed down with great beer (that'd be XXXX for the uninitiated :-)
Can't wait till next time!
Since we forgot our camera and Trev did aswell, did anyone other than Bob get any photo's?

A couple more photos, taken with the phone so please don't complain about the quality :). First one shows that Pezza is not just a figment of someones imagination.

Thanks Trev for a great get-together, Carolyn & I enjoyed meeting everyone, having a few drinks & chatting, sorry we did'nt get to talk to everyone (most). I made a comment that we'd all make a great tagalong, so maybe in the next couple of months we should all get together again and do just that, we just need a destination :o)

Thanks again...

Tim,

Hmmmmmm, sounds like you were going to keep that a secret until this thread.
So for how long will we be there, I need to start accumulating spare dollars now so jude won't know it's all gone in one hit. hehehehe
It is tempting but I think I will have to pass on that one.

Cheers Trevor.

Trevor,

WOuld you please add this report to the Trip/Gathering system. If you go back into the T&G area and click on edit.update your trip - You will ses a trip report box and also a place to load upto 12 pictures. This way they are locked into the T&G system and will not disappear from the forum system over time.

If you have any problems let me know.

Trevor R, Pezza and the Qld gang,

Just arrived back in "Mexico City". Thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable time, if rather short, on Sunday. A really great bunch of people who made a couple of "drop ins" feel very welcome.

Hope to catch up with you all in the future.

Regards

p.s. Bob, it's OK, you can call me Grumpy anytime hahahahaha

Gramps,

I only wish all the mexicans would take a leaf out of your book and ONLY STAY FOR 3 - 4 DAYS not 3 - 4 MONTHS. LOL.
Good to see you made the effort, and who knows I may just do the same on one of the cockroach gatherings.

Cheers Trevor.
