... "Donga style camping - sleeping"?

This seems to be a selling point with some of the NT tour operators.

small room with a bed - external showers, conveniences. Often recycled single men's quarters etc.,

Usually have a/c, always have bed, light, cupboard/wardrobe.

Well a donga is a small 2x3 metre dog box with a bed and air-con. With a bit of luck you may also have a table and chair.

Remote minesites and communities have a few of them.

Sounds like its a luxury tour!!

Dave, one crew that went to SA to do a shutdown were not happy with accomodation, threatened to get back on plane. 5 star motel with all meals, ensuits etc fixed the problem. No dongas for them !

G'day Wolfie,
They are the removable type rental huts you see beeing carted around on the back of tilt trays and trucks.
They have a small room either side for sleeping, usually 2 beds in each and another in the middle with kitchen facilities.
You see them used on construction sites being used as offices and in the remote areas as acommadation.
We used to live in them in when working for main rds in country QLD.

Your guess is............correct!
As for a prize, I mentioned where the pic was to someone about a month ago, and for all I know you may have been listening in and just biding your time to try and cheat me out of one of my very cheap prizes. So bugger off! lol.

The older style ones I have stayed in didn't have a window or space enough to swing a cat. My tent is more comfortable.
