Saucepan Handle

I am intending to cut handles off a few old aluminium saucepans so that they can nest inside each other & save space when packing.
What ideas do other EO Forumites have for a clip on handle that will grip the rim of the saucepan for putting on & off the fire/stove etc.
Is there an off the shelf unit from one of the camping stores or have you made something up yourselves?
Thanks in anticipation

good camping shops will sell the TREGA (Swedish) one. Don't trust the cheaper aluminium versions. Very handy.

Multigrips are my choice as well, the locking type also work well and have a lot of uses.....these are also handy for cracking macadamia nuts without chushing the good bit in the middle

I use a large set of slip joint (water pump?) pliers that a have a nice offset head. The beauty of the pliers option is that you have a multi purpose tool rather than another one use item.

John,

Belinda has a saucepan that has the handle screwed on.
Easy to take off when transporting.
Check before you go cutting and see if it is a screw on handle. Most would be, it would be easy to ship from the factory if the handles were attached at the point of sale.

I have a set of Coleman stainless steel cookware that fits inside each other and is enclosed in a drawstring bag. The lid for the largest pot doubles as a frypan and can be fitted with a removable handle.

They are lightweight and thin walled, but providing the heat is controlled, work well without the contents burning.

The cost was about $30.00 about 6 years ago and have served us well. Don't know if they are still available.

I steer clear of aluminium for cooking. Not good for you apparently.

Thanks everyone for your replies; as usual many good ideas.
I will investigate the purpose designed one's from the camping shops as well as long handled multi grips.
