Went back to
Deep Creek Conservation Park for two days last week.
Camped at the Tapannapa
campsite and spent one afternoon walking from there into
Boat Harbour Beach then along the
Heysen Trail across to Tunkalilla Beach on which I had not set foot since 1964.
What a buzz! The weather was perfect with a SE sea breeze keeping the temp down and the scenery from the clifftops of the Southern Ocean hitting the coast was spectacular. There were more skippies in attendance than you could poke a stick at and they are so used to people that they hardly noticed us.
Quick swim at
Boat Harbour before the climb back to the vehicle. Back to a comfortable
bush camp for a beer and a rest while we watched the local birdlife in comfort.
Great place and about 2hrs drive from
Adelaide.
The climb in and out of Boatharbour Beach is the only downside - I am still stiff and sore after three days rest at
home. Have to be some disadvantages I suppose.
