Hi Folks
Has anyone used anything like this?
http://www.shifta.com/
The old bones are not what they once were and the idea of "shoving" a large rig about is not what I look forward to
What do you think?
regards
John

There is a company here in Australia that makes these.
They are expensive.
I prefer the ones that fit to each tyre, and are remote controlled, you can steer, everything.

Bloody good idea, I think.
Have seen a similar device at one of the Caravan and Camping shows.
You can also get a system where the motor drive's are permanently attached to your Caravan and you drive it around with a remote control unit.
Personally, I can't justify buying any of them at the moment, but you have just inspired me with a future project.
I have an electric wheelchair, inherited when my dad passed away.
I'm sure I can construct something with the motor drive assembly, battery bank and speed controller, if I really tried.
I only need to move my camper trailer around.

I wonder how good they are on slopes? I don't think I'd be putting too much faith in the tractive capabilities of that little number on anything other than an almost billiard-table smooth/flat surface!!!!
But a good idea never the less....

For £798.99 at the current exchange rate you could almost buy an old VW to move it around. I like the comment above - one day when I get the time might make one myself
