Hi Lyn and Eric. Don't think I am lighting anyone's candle these days. Just a spectator that particular day I am informed unless I get a call up to to assist with something.

I am meeting and greeting at the Commonwelath Games Village 6 days a week 8.5-9 hours a day dependent what days I am working. Last night one of the heads of Chubb didn't seem to appreciate that because he had been to the outside world as many others had, he had to go through screening again. hehhehe after all he was nothing different in my eyes. He knew I was doing my job. Have a few fun stories like that.

Talking to a lovely Welsh lady athlete in a fast wheel chair about speeds and the like. RSI in elbows and shoulders is a major problem when they do round 30 kph for the races. I know I couldn't keep that up for long. The boys and girls in blue too seem different than the ones I meet beside the highways ;-)

Hi John
I am also at the Village-- in Logistics office behind the big warehouse tent. Doing odd job stuff-- lots of globes to change, locks to fix etc etc in the houses. &.00am amd 12 noon starts, on early for next 3 days. Working 4 weeks straight-- bit of a shock to the system after doing not much for 12 months.
Great place to be though.

G'day Rusty, first time home in nearly a week at the moment with today off. I will be working evenings now until next Wednesday so am free for the opening timeslot. I am working the 2.30 times onwards or 6.30 am during the games period itself. Give me a hoi on the mobile round that time. The numbers with the Rig Pic I think. Moses is having to stay in the garage so I hope he will be looked after. You could ask the volunteers on the entry sites if they know where John is - there are a couple but I tend to stand out. The tall one with the beard. We are moved from point to point from the start of the shift so I never know where I will be but it will have to be after the shift start.

Yes, indeed great to be there apart from trying to understand what train I should be on to go round the loop. I don't sorta like the public transport system.....

Hi Eric, Me & the missus are working at the MCG from 18th onwards. Could'nt make the opening ceremony due to work commitments - hence starting on 18th. looking foward to it and should be great fun. We havent got much time off on our roster so not sure if we could catch-up, but have fun 'blowing stuff up' LOL.
