Dan,

If thread 31547 was genuine, then stop fishing for crap. your either full of it yourself, or your a solenoid short of a dual battery system.

Well you will need to know the AC size, say 1.5hp for a small one. 1 HP=746watt so thats about 1100 watts total. Multiply that by 6 (yes 6) as it could take up to 6 times running load to start the sucker (or blower in this case) and theres your inverter size, say 6600, or 7000 to be round. Divide that by 12, thats 584 amps at starting, so you'll need 120mm cable from your 6 (yes SIX) 100a-h batteries all connected in parallel to complete the setup, easy really

totally impractical tho.

get some 3000W inverters off ebay. They should be reliable enough. While you are at it, pick up a pipe bender to bend the cable you will need to run to power the inverter under load.

This is not feasible even at 24 volts. Battery required is plus 1000 Ah.

I can hear the guys all crying out --" YOU CANT BE SERIOUS"/
A fan might be a COOL alternative!?
I would have thought your aim would be to use a 240v ac alternator to drive your
ac air con unit. Or would that not meet your dubious (it seems) agenda?

Just dont camp near me whilst you are running it though Cheers

followed that other thread also.
He's taking the p.ss I reckon.
But he's got a sense of humour as his bait gets plenty of nibbles!
Forget the aircon and strap a bag of ice to ya head mate!!
