1. going through Goyder-Kulgera stock route and take turn off to Lambert centre
...or...

2.New crown and taking track through Andado through to Alice.....

Hi Laura

Oodnadatta to Dalhousie via Hamilton Station is a marked road/track. The last bit into Dalhousie could be a tad rough so take it nice and easy. From Dalhousie to Mt Dare and new Crown is a signposted road.

New Crown/Andado/Old Andado/ Mac Clark Reserve/St Theresa Mission, Alice Springs is a good run but you could experience some bulldust. Good desert scenery and some low range mountains.

New Crown/Finke is a good road/then old railway corridor to Maryvale Station is rough and bouncy but still a worthwhile trip(once is enough) and then on to Chambers Pillar return and on to Alice Springs.

New Crown/Finke/Lambert Centre/Kulgera is a gravel road with a 28km return bush track into Lambert Centre. All good roads and signposted.

Take your pick!!! :o)

Cheers

Yeah,
Great bit of road that one from Finke to Maryvale.
Two choices take the smoother option but get sea sick going up and down, up and down, up and down over the dunes or take the teeth chattering, ear drum breaking, tail gate rattling, dash falling to bits, body numbing corrugations of the old rail line.
Definately a great trip but as Willem said, only once in a lifetime.

Regards,
Mark
