Does $1300 for a 2000 3.5L V6 Jackaroo with driver on maximum no claim bonus sound right in Sydney? There are no additions to the vehicle. (AAMI)

WDR,

Ring again for another quote but this time give them the post code of a northern or eastern suburb of Sydney.

It does sound a bit steep. Even $1300 before the NCB is a bit high.

Definitely 'play' around with the postcode. It can make a huge difference.

It's hard to tell without more details.

I just entered the following and the quote was $1080 (31 year old male, 2000 V6 SE Auto Jackaroo, No Finance). This quote was for Bidwill (near Mount Druitt).

The same details in the NRMA gave $1167

I live in Newcastle with a 99 Jackaroo 3.5L V6 - with several non standard Accessories. Am on max no claim & insured with AAMI. Last premium $558. Agreed Value $28,450.

$1300 seems very high.

99 TD SE Jack, Adelaide, around the $600 mark - max NCB for yonks - we are in late 50's. Keep in mind these insurers are a flash as rats with gold teeth - plenty of posts here to indicate quoting is a con-game to them - smoke, mirrors and plenty of bluff is the go - I assumed they had a firm checklist to work through - apparently that is only the start - once they have a figure to quote, they "play games" with you to see what they can get it "up to"..... various ploys are used to justify higher figures......you could try coming back to them with a new name the day after... you might save hundreds !

mate i use a broker here in melb and have a cgu policy for my jack, 03 se, winch , bar, etc. with rating one protection and window cover ( one claim a year any window - no charge) and it costs me $ 690 . and the policy states "the vehicle is covered for anything it is designed to do" !!! how cool is that :-))))

without protection and window it is about $ 520.

I can give you the details if you want, i find them very helpfull.
