People of the
forum,
How long does this battery last. I want to change it before it runs out but not after only one year if it can be expected to last five. Does anyone know the expectancy.

Ours is 2 years old and still going.
Would depend on how old the battery was before you bought the fridge.

Hi,
We only got about 6 months out of ours - so time frame is flexible.

My battery needs replacing and I took it out to try to find a replacemet but coudln't find one locally. We have since moved to
Perth and the battery is probably someplace between
Perth and
Sydney. Does anyone know the code for the battery and is it easily available.
Any help is much appreciated,
Thanks.

I don't think there's any problem securing a battery Grumpy.

You will find the battery type when you open the fridge lid, on one of the small labels on the inside of the fridge lid, it is a LR44, with the giant price of about $1.50 at any good battery
shop. You do not have to use the genuine Engel one, which is dearer (also has instruction on how to change the Battery).
The General life is about 12 months, but with the new Model fridges, they now have a lithium battery that should last about 3 years.
Regards
Stephen

Don't have a battery in my old engel :-((((
But then it is never going to need replacing :-))))
I just lift the lid and stick my finger in for temp, or I just have to open that stubbie to see if it is cold enough yet!

The screen on the temp display is supposed to flash a code to tell you that the
battery is getting low.
I posted about it a couple of months ago!
