Hey all,

I have a set of Coilrite bags in the back of my 80 series. seems the driver side as a slow leak (looses around 2-4psi overnight). Tried coating it all in soapy water to id the source but no luck as yet. Any suggestions ? I am leaning toward where the line goes into the bag but I don't want to pull it all down on spec.

Thanks.

Andy

Have you tried soapy water around the inflation tube where it enters the fitting?
That is where mine was leaking, the end of the tube has to be cut very square before inserting.

I assume you tried to upped the pressure in the bags while spraying the suds about.

That is a small leak and may be difficult to find at low pressures.

Top of the bag was my best guess as well. Soapy water did not show it up there but it is a very slow leak. even running it up to 35psi and leaving it overnight only saw a 4 psi drop. passenger side is fine and hold at any pressure. I may just redo the fit on the leaking on to see if that sorts it.

I think there is a bit of a technique in getting the hose out, & it isn't shown in the installation instructions.

Andy,
Coilrite have a manufacturing problem with their air bags. The bags develop a leak around the air inlet brass insert in the top of the bag. If you take BOTH bags back to the Airbag Man they will give you a replacement set free of charge. Firestone, the Coilrite manufacturers, have produced an improved bag but it was supposed to be available in April but now they are saying June. They are promising to supply these free in exchange for your current or even replacement bags if you elect to get another set while waiting for the improved ones.
Hope this helps.
Will

Thanks for the heads up mate. I have been speaking with All Air here in Sydney and they have mentioned nothing about it ??? Funny that. I will speak with them or airbagman (Brisbane ?) about it during the week.

I thought I had tracked it down to a leaking valve but seems I was wrong (would have saved me the drama of having to take the bags out once again).

Hey Will,

Rang Airbag Man in Bne and they knew nothing of a recall/replacement program ?

I guess I will have to keep on trying to track down my grief. Looks like the bag will have to come out again.

Thanks again.
