In one of the 4wd mags I saw a fuel consumption chart (not from chev) showing either the ford or chev V8 diesel using slightly less than the LC.

Noel.

Have a browse of the Bushtracker forum (public bit) there is some info there on fuel consumption for the Fords towing the Bushtrackers. Should be similiar.

Alternativley have a look at the US Chev forums and convert what they get towing a smaller 5th wheel caravan.

An alternative tow vehicle could be suitably modded light trucks (suspension and seats) such as the Izuzu NPR 300 4x4 or for a nice big hauler a FS550 Crew Cab 4x4. Adding a big exhaust and in some cases a chip can safley and reliably up there Kw's and Torque by up to 30%. The licence upgrade is not difficult.

There is some nice gear around for trucks and they are tough.

Regards

Paul

If you get the US figures don't forget that the US Gallon is smaller than the Aus Gallon. I think it is about 4 litres instead of 4.54

Noel,

Bilbo (in WA) just had a 6.5 chev put into a Patrol. If you look through the archives you will see all that he has to say about his setup but basically he was saying about 16lt per 100km. and he is still running his in so may get better over time???

Hope this helps.
Trevor.
