Hi, We have been trying to find the "Maree Man" on Google Map sat , but the info on the Net only say's that it is 60ks from Maree, does anyone know which direction, or is there some landmarks that we can use to see if you can still see it, they said in the Sunday Mail that it is getting overgrown etc . Any info muchly appreciated. Cheers Des.

As Brad says, SSE of L Eyre South.
Altough not accessible from the made road, it is north of the
Oodnadatta track: - N of Hermit
Hill, which is about 60 K west of
Marree. You cannot possibly see it from the road.
Please do not attempt to go there. Firstly, there are no tracks or roads, and the Tread Lightly morals would suggest we should not make any in such a fragile environment. Secondly, it is in an area particularly special to the locals. If you want to know more, ask Reg Dodd at the
Marree Arabunna Peoples Center in
Marree. Reg is a true gentleman and a great caretaker.
Cheers

Hi, thanks fellows , I had just found it by working the Longs & Lats on a map that I found with them on it.
I am only looking on google maps as I don't have broadband ( yet), but it is still visable as when it was filmed.
I was looking to the north but I can see how they would have been able to get there as it seems only 10-12ks from th Track.
Well thanks again , the
Forum has saved me again.
Cheers Des.

Note,
the image in Google Earth is from a sat. photo probably taken a couple of years ago. It's probably much less noticeable now in real time.

Just a point for anyone only using Google Maps, there is a site which uses Google and the view is much bigger (3/4 screen ) than On Google Maps.
it is a 4x4 site which you join ,its not bad .
try www.frappr/overlander.com.au . Cheers Des.
