Both the Engel and the Trailblazer are very good fridges.

The Engel probably has the advantage of being more commonly available, including spares and accessories and is cheaper than the Trailblazer to buy new.

"Nobody has ever been sacked for buying an Engel":-)

Wait for a specials day at Ray's Outdoors.
Actually, I noticed both the Engel and Waeco are being sold at present with a free transit bag worth about $150.00.

Gdad,
My friends and I have had experience with both Trail blazer and engel over a period of years no dramas. I currently have a 40ltr Engel and that does my wife and myself. Draws little current compared to the bigger units.

Have you thought about a drawer fridge, it has a much better configuration if you want to actually get at the food. The fridge lays more flat on the floor and the inside plastic drawer slides out with all the food readily available.
We have a model that is about 36 litres of very usable space that is easy to access.

There are a few drawer fridges on the market. Try:

www.evakool.com/truckbox.shtml and scoll down the page to Truck Box TB36.

No way i prefer BFGs to Cooper they suck, in fact my Patrol with the BFGs went heaps more places than my mate with the Cruiser on Coopers.

I have had a 40lt Trailblazer for about seven years and it has been perfect. I went for it over the Engel mainly because I think they are a tougher fridge.

Hi Gdad

Have the Trailblaza, wonderful unit.

Choose the 70lt for more capacity as apposed to the smaller ones, couldn't see the value in them.
They are a big unit and heavy but wouldn't be without it.
