Bundy, it will be very warm up there, and it's the top end wet season. Not the best time for travel in those areas IMHO.

Why don't you Google each place you may hilight along the way and do your research that way.
Thewre must be 1000 or more
places tpo see from
Perth to
Gold Coast.
I have done the lot over a period of time.
KImberley might not be the place to be in December.

Do it via Adelaide/Melborne/inland or coast/
Gold Coast at that time of the year.
About 55 hrs behind the wheel in summer heat is not going to be fun via
Adelaide, god knows how long in what sort of heat/humidity across the Kimberly - even less fun I think...

As all have said, your trip at that time of year especially through theGulf is not a good idea as you wan't to enjoy not endure.

Hi bundy boy,
we went the other way....
cairns to
perth via top end a few years ago...there are so many
places to see that we took 18 months. it might be a good idea to have another plan for that time of year due to the wet. This year would have most likely been ok because the wet was very late, but who can tell for next wet. it will be bloody hot so make sure you have a fan or something to help cool you in
camp. the Barra fishing at that time of year should be going great.
we went
cairns - townsville - isa-
camooweal -
tennant creek - alice- west macdonnell -
palm valley -
kings canyon -
the rock - alice
tennant creek -
roper bar -
mataranka -
darwin -
daly river -
katherine -
Victoria river -
kununurra -
wyndham - bungles -
halls creek - fitsroy crossing -
derby - brome -
cape leveque -
broome - port headland -
cossack (roeboure) -
karratha etc down the coast to
perth.
stopped at about a million or two
places along the way. there was no where we went that you couldn't go in our troopy towing a camper trailer if you took care. that might be different in a wetter time of year
favourate
placesCossack ( just outside roebourne)
Cape keriden ?? (just north of hedland - turn off at pardoo road house i think)
middle lagoon ( on road to cape laveque)
bungle bungles
penticoust river ( easten end of
gibb river rd)
Daly river (browns creek
camp ground)
mataranka hot springs
just to name a few !
we hope to take a couple of months later this year and go
cairns to
gold coast stopping along the way. so we might have some good spots along the coast after that trip
good luck
ellen
