Whoever asked about the rope winch from the Qld Camping show, a great little product with a decent rope. The product is the 'Hitch Master' Rope Winch. I bought two for $50, the website is at www.thehitchmaster.com

Keep the instructions with you! Takes a bit of memory recall to use without them!

I really like the pic where the Unimog is being winched...I wonder how far he moved it....

As you have said, its a good thing to use if you do not know how to use a rope.

LOL

Guys,

Not quite that simple.

Being a pulley system, the lifting capability is far in excess to what you will achieve by rope alone.

I happened to be with Roachie when we saw the product being demonstrated last year.

So far, I have resisted the temptation to buy one because I can't think of a lifting situation where I would need it.

To my knowledge, Roachie resisted the temptation too, but he just may have gone back later:-)

Hi Sand Man

If you know how to to make a hitch you can make as many as you want to, until you over come the braking strain of the rope.

I have pull a car out of a bog with method.

But can see the need of the tool for ease or if you cannot use a rope

Regards

Richard

Everytime I see these at a show the credit card muscle twitches. They do look impressive.

I spent about half an hour at the camper show last week, watching and listening to the sales guy. I was very impressed with his demo. Lifted a large motor by one hand using the system. Will get a pair one day. Comes in 2 sizes.

Cheers

The Hitchmaster is a rope winch by the companies definition, however for those who haven't seen the item and the demo don't get the word 'winch' and 'fourby' mixed up. I believe it is an excellent piece of kit as an alternate to a pulley system to up your leverage, however I woudn't consider winching a fourby with it.
