It was tongue in cheek Truckster, couldn't help myself. Reminded me of the '20 question' answers of Ozi. At least I thought it was funny :-)
I'll crawl back into my box now (but still thinking it was funny)

Using Optus dialup - want Optus cable but not while I'm renting for 12 months.

No experience with primus.

With Optus my service was good for the first month and then went downhill? Suspicious hey.

I'm on a 120hr per month plan - heaps cheaper than going over hours on the 30 hr per month plan.

I was with Telstra who honestly provided better service than optus - but the cost would be much higher if I was on 120 hours per month over there (download capped rather than time capped).

If you mainly chat, get a download capped account. If you mainly download stuff, surf or play games, get a time capped account.

That's the cheapest way. Chat doesnt take much download and you spend a lot of time doing nothing.

Depending on where you live try Broadband- look at www.whirlpool.com.au
I'm with iinet (www.iinet.net.au)- great service and lots of options. Although I'm on a mid range plan, I have a mate on the cheapest plan who often goes over his limit- but it doesn't matter with iinet as it just drops in speed to 72k with NO SURCHARGE (still way faster than dialup)
iinet is by far the best of the options for broadband IMHO. -I would NEVER go back to dialup...
Have 2 sons at uni and they are very computer savvy- all their mates are with iinet too .
(Iinet should give me a bonus for this!!!)

Using dodo $10 a month 70mb unlimited time. Never pay this much. Always $24.90 which is the max you can be charged on dial up. Monthy average for downloads is 1Gb. Always conect on first dial and find it a lot faster than telstra at a fraction of the cost.

I have been with TPG dial up in Armidale NSW for 4 years. Generally OK. Sometimes a bit slow at certain times of day. No problems with connection.
$16/month unlimited time and downloads.

I used Ihug and got 1/5th the download speed and ping that I got with Telstra.

Price was good - service was poor in my view. Not recommended.
