Hi
I have just installed a 57litre Engel
Water Tank in the back of my GU. I have two questions:
The main question:
Water Quality Taste. I have read the previous posts about getting rid of the poor taste (using right hoses, bicarb of soda etc). I have rinsed it out, filled it using the blue
drinking water quality hosing etc - but have not used bicarb of soda etc - because I do not have specific instructions. Can someone please tell me specifically - how much, what to do etc. as I have no idea and don't like concept of adding anything to something you are going to drink if I am not sure. Also if there there are any other ideas, I woudl be happy to hear them.
The minor question:
Water noise. Now with a
water tank inside the car, there is the sound of it swishing around, slapping into the sides etc. Has anyone done anything to reduce the sound?. I think the kids in the back are going to end up sea-sick :) Not a big issue, really but would be interested to see if anyone had done anything.

Alan,
Are you saying you have a taste problem with a new
tank?
You only need to use bi-carb if you already have a taste problem.
Chuck a cup full of bi-carb of soda in the
tank and leave over night as a minimum.
Then flush the
tank out and refill with clean
water.

Alan,
I'd use bicarbonate of soda as stated above, but I'd use at least a cupful in those 57 litres of
water. Bicarb is an innoucous substance used for all sorts of domestic cleaning and cooking.
Used dry, it's great for getting smells out of fridges and stains out of carpets etc. Its' also good for soaking dried peas before ya make mushy peas out of 'em! But rinse 'em before ya
cook 'em.
Bicarb is also good for getting up that painful stomach wind or indigestion. One spoonful in a cup of warm
water and BAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPP!!! That's better!
Mushy peas work better at the other anatomical end of things ;)

I had a look on the Engel Australia web site but could not find
water tanks listed. Please give some more details of them.

The are not on the web site from what can see either.
I also have the pamphlet which I will scan and post.
Found them in ARB - come in 50l or 57l options - difference is purely length. I am heading off for a week shortly - so will post some photos when I have a moment (will be after I come back).
