I was told the BFGs did not have the correct Load rating and bought Cooper ATRs @ $300 each

I bought 285/70/R17 Cooper STT's and put em on my GU4 (albeit on 17" Steel rims for bush) and keep the factory
wheels and tyres for on road. (although I bought the STT's second hand - 6 for $1200) about 70% worn if that is any indication on their new price?
Mind you I had to cut a small piece of the inner guard away after removing the front mud guards (inside the wheel arch so you cant see it and you can still fit the mud guards back on with the standard wheels/tyres.

Dave,
Try Tempe Tyres, they were the best price when I was looking for BFG's for my patrol(though 16" rims). Don't know the phone number off hand. I work near the airport so they were reasonably handy for me.

Hello,
Try Bridgestone they make the right tyre for the 17inch wheel. A quote from Bridgestone in
adelaide was just over $315

Hey david, I put BFG Muddies 285/70/17 (33") on my GU IV 2" lift they fit nice and look great, 12months old now with 20,000Klm used them heaps in bush, sharp rocks shale, mud, sand and bitumen with no problems so far. Good side wall protection.
Cheers,
Babs.
