VIC HIGH COUNTRY MAPS - I NEED HELP !

Good evening ,
I got the Rooftop Adventure maps suggested on my previous enquiry last week , but none of them seem to cover the area east of a line drawn south from
Mitta Mitta to the
Mitchell River N.P.
I have a heap of maps for west of this line but nothing to the east . I am intersted in the
Mitta Mitta River area upstream from the dam , Snowy
Creek , Gibbo River in the north and the
Tambo River and Haunted Stream in the south .
I have looked at the Adventure maps in the ExplorOz
shop , but when you click on them the map you get is too small to read . ( The
shop should address this )

Unfortunately Willie Rooftop maps haven't covererd that area yet & the only other general touring map by Hema (1:300,000 The High Country Victoria) is a little outdated & inacurate in
places. The best maps by far are the 1:50K or 1:25k topographic series but can get pretty expensive when covering a large area. As a general planning map the Hema sheet would do but the scale does tend to get one a little lost at times. Some others may be able to shed light on more options but I'm unaware of any at this time.

One map I forgot to add that covers the Haunted stream & Cassilis areas is the Rooftops "Bairnsdale / Dargo" sheet (#1). It has a fair bit of overlap to the North West with the other ones you already have but doesn't go far enough to cover the Mitta & NSW border area. It almost covers right down to the coast but the 4x4 tracks down that way are disjointed, have fewer highlights & generally aren't as challenging.

I have a set of Columbus High country maps that I am sure will cover the area you want. I don't know the area so not sure which of the 100 or so sheets (on CD) cover the area you want.

I had the same problem when we were down there at
easter Willie, just loaded the topo maps, 1:25 and 1:250 plus a couple of 1:100's.

tom groggin and as far south as
omeo.
goes across in west to lake hume and nth to jingellic
scale is 1:180 000. map is 1998 produced by towong shire council 02 6071 2999
cartography by natural resource systems 03 9269 4555
may help you
otherwise as said above rooftops bairnsdale-
dargo-
omeo adventure map covers some of the area mentioned

The Upper Murray Tourist map is a good map. Shows the area from (and including) Hume dam, entire upper Murray across to the Alpine way in the Kosciusko NP, and everything in between, down to
Omeo. Mitta and
Dartmouth Dam are in the centre of the map.
For more detailed maps, you might also like to try the Vicmap Topo maps -
Granite Flat 8324-1-1
Snowy
Creek 8324-1-2
Dart - Gibbo 8424-N
Benambra - Leinster 8424-S
