Anyone been there?
Thinking of heading out that way next long weekend, which unfortunately is not for a fair while. From the look of the write up in a 4by mag, it looks like a good place to go and just stop for a few days. Any comments?

Hi Rick,
Do you mean Eurady Stn about 60-70km north of
Northampton?
Worked in the area a few years ago, there is some good driving around there if I remember right.
Have fun

Ya want to be quick to get there, especially on long weekends, very popular & first come first serve basis if you want to use the accomodation at the shearers quarters. The
camping area is good tho, if you get there early enough, but then you have to take your chances on what the neighbours will be like.

Well worth a trip out there. Myself and my club spent
easter out there and had a great time!! There is plenty to see, with some breakaway country and old mines to explore. There are plenty of
places to
bush camp, however the facilities there are great. We booked the shearers quarters and old
homestead for the weekend from CALM (name change occuring at the moment???) and for a largish group and was somewhere around the $250 mark for the whole weekend (dont quote me, I didnt pay the bill). Has a hot shower for those that dont like the
camp de odore and washing up facilities and the such.
As for an EO gathering WA, it would make a great location. Plenty of room for everyone not to be ontop of each other (unless thats your bag). I would be one for sure that would try to attend.

Hi. As others have said great place for a long weekend. I went there at
Easter
but
homestead was over crowded. I just moved off and camped a couple of km away. I think that there was also a exploration crew using the shearing sheds
as a
camp.Might still be there.
Cheers Brian

Hi DT
I was working out that way in 1999 / 2000 and just to the West of Jaurdi Station was a large expanse of relatively shallow
water called West Lake.
Was told about it by people at Boulder Shire as we were seeking
water for construction.
I always thought it would be a great place to
camp; almost gauranteed to have it to yourself I would have thought.
Others may know of it?
Regards
John A
