Hello everyone. We are caretaking a cattle property in SW Qld at present and enjoying it very much. We are interested in doing this some more but do not have real 'farm' experience. Can operate a front end loader, tend to watering and feeding needs, 4WDers, quad bike but that's about it. We have our own caravan with shower etc so we're pretty well set up. This 'job' ends at the end of August and wonder if anyone else would like to head off for a holiday for a couple, or few weeks and leave us to keep an eye out on the place for a while.

Gedday mate,

We did that for 5 months up in the Kimberlys over the wet season 2004/5. I was an IT manager before we did it but did understand machinery, as you do.

Had a ball, and will probably do it again one day. Most of em just want someone who has a bit of nouse.

Enjoy!

Yes, we could be interested! We have used "House Sitters" before & found them to be excellent.
Unfortunately, one unfairly biased story on A Current Affair, has destryed an excellent business.

We have a "hobby farm" with Scottish Highland cattle, a few alpacas & chooks etc.
siuated right on the edge of the Victorian High Country, near the old gold mining area of Walhalla.

Could you email me your contact details to patrol6atnetspacedotnetdotau

We are actually from Vic but will be hanging out around Qld for the next few months. It's the warmth up here that lures us but we could be interested down that way during the summer and autumn months. We live in the Dandenong Ranges!

OFF AGAIN
Have a look at the "Touring Oz" website and look under "property sitting" thread, it may not be to your liking but maybe worth a think.
