The speccies can go satdy or sunday but sunday last year was THE day for spectators, gr8 action in the one spot almost. I reckon that you would not need a 4b to get to the action there were heaps of 2wd's there last year but they parked up top and its a fair walk to the action from there

Didn't see you there truckie, I just missed bonz though
there was plenty of walking even for the 2 stages we watched.
I reckon it was an expensive day for a few of the competitors, a hilux left a bit too much oil on the rocks and a wrangler looked a bit sick after being on it's roof for a while. it was smoking well after it should have burnt the oil of the pistons......

apparently sunday was well set out we were told with less walking and better viewing, not sure......

I thought it was boring as bleep .
Would not ever bother going again.

we stood there for 30 mins and nothing happened. no cars on any tracks. then all of a sudden, 1 car would go... then 10 mins 1 more would move...

it was painful it was that slow, we were ready to go home after 2 hours.

We did like what we saw the time that we were there. This is the first event of it's kind we have been to, what are others like?

The event was quite slow and appeared to be quite disorganized. you had to keep asking officials where there was some action, most of the time they didn't know.
It might have helped if there were a few whiteboards along the main road telling people when things got underway. if a group of cars had a holdup on a stage then it would be easy to re-schedule events on the whiteboard and keep people informed.

It would also be easy enough to have the next vehicle on the course waiting at the start until the previous car was over the finish, I see no reason it couldn't go within a minute or so unless there were heaps of penalties to radio through from the previous run.

I would think that the spellchecker also came up with "bent" much more appropriate.

A group of us are going on the Saturday. Saturday was decided as it has 6 stages whereas Sunday has 3. This will be our 1st comp event, so we are all looking forward to it.

BTW, a few of the guys were planning to take their normal cars, but it looks as though I might suggest they take the 4bies, especially as a little rain is forcast for Saturday.

Cheers

Bonz,

Would love to but I recently have had a holiday and cannot justify going away again so soon - people would think all I do is have holidays and go away all the time......
