Hi Laura,

South of Chambers Pillar South of Titjikala/Maryvale on the Ghan Road is a nice camp at Alice Well. It is through the dunes from Bundooma, a Ghan Railway water point. At the Bundooma water tank look 15 m north then head west for 1.5 kms to the banks of the Hugh River.

West of Finke, go out to the Lambert Centre 23 kms west of Finke and 13kms north. Not a designated camp site as such but folks camp there.

People camp at the creek at Charlotte Waters but it ISNT a designated camping spot and is part of the Charlotte Waters outstation of Finke.

Camping, shop and pub at Mt Dare. Closest pub 250 kms west to Kulgera, south 250kms to Oodnadatta, 500kms east to Birdsville. We moved to the new pub TODAY. Camping $6.50 per person.

No camping between Mt Dare and Dalhousie except at 3 o'çlock creek just before Dalhousie. It is the firewood pickup centre for Dalhousie.

Dalhousie had 14mm rain yesterday with an unknown amount today.

If you come by say g'day.

Cheers

Happy travels Laura

One other thought - we enjoyed a detour to Old Andado a couple of years back - an hour or less from Andado, and Molly is an interesting person and its interesting to see her house and the outbuildings.

Otherwise - Ian knows the area!

Hi Max,

Molly was actually down at Old Andado last weekend, the first time in 18 months. It is always a good gig.

Lance and June are the caretakers this season and are good value. It is a pretty drive from Alice via Santa Teresa, Old Andado to Mt Dare and Dalhousie. You can also access Old Andado from New Crown. All grear country. Don't be afraid to say g'day at the various establishments rather than bush camp.

Once again, cheers,
Ian@MtDare
